Check the Motor before You Buy:
PTZ security cameras are motorized in all axes of motion. The movement should be smooth and there should be no noise while the motor rotates. This ensures that the cameras stay undetected and work silently. If the motor makes noise, it is really easy to pin point the location of the camera and it is also possible that the camera motor is rusty, which is not a good sign.
Make Sure That They Are PTZ and Not Just PT Cameras:
Sometimes PT cameras can be confused as PTZ cameras. PTZ cameras also have an option to zoom, which makes their recording quality higher than PT cameras. PT cameras do have the option to cover 360 degrees, but they lack in terms of distance as well as quality. Therefore, always make sure that you purchase a PTZ camera over a PT camera.
PTZ camera is one of the most expensive equipment. Therefore, ensure that you have enough money to purchase them. Unlike other cameras, one PTZ camera can cover an entire area. Therefore, on the whole, a PTZ camera would be a cheaper option. There are plenty of home security camera options so if you wanted something a little cheaper there are plenty of options. You should also know that while the camera is viewing some other area, the area behind the camera or beside the camera is totally in its blind spot. So, it is generally advised to purchase at least 2 PTZ cameras to cover an area.
Larger Zooming Capability:
PTZ cameras generally come with a really powerful lens that can zoom to the entrance of a full size room with ease. But if you need a much more powerful lens, you would need to spend a few more bucks and get one that suits your needs.
PTZ cameras are really powerful devices and they offer more security when compared to any other camera.
